1. OUTDOOR SPACE
Since we are all spending a lot more time at home, our outdoor living areas have become more important than ever. Fire pits, super-sized decks, outdoor kitchens, play areas for kids and pets, and even pools are becoming more popular in areas where they weren't before.
2. HOME OFFICE OR CLASSROOM
Many workers aren’t heading back to the office until 2021 or even later so having a functional home office with privacy is important. Some school aged children are virtual learning from home this year and classroom space is a must for them.
3. SEPARATION OF SPACE
Open floor plans are so-o-o 2019. Now that families are having much needed family time, a little solitude is welcome. Having spaces where you can retreat and have a private moment is much appreciated.
4. HOME GYM
Many people are forgoing the gym during the pandemic, preferring to work up a sweat from home to minimize risks of coronavirus transmission.
5. IN-LAW SUITE
With people bringing elderly family members home and out of facilities, in-law areas are a much needed option, especially if there is a kitchen and bathroom.
6. LAUNDRY ROOM
Concerns about cleanliness and hygiene have been at an all-time high during the pandemic, which means laundry rooms are more important than pre-COVID. Having an organized area for laundry is a must.
